WSP's history and acquisitions

Folke Jacobson and Hans Widmark founded J&W, Jacobson & Widmark in 1938. The company was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1976, employing 750 staff. In 2001 the company became part of WSP Group (originally Williams Sayles Partnership), a british company established in 1970 and listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Significant stages in WSP's history

Since the '90s WSP has undertaken an ambitous plan of internal and external growth, aimed to transform the group into one of the largest international consultancies in the world. The most significant stages in WSP's history are shown in the picture below.


Over the past years, WSP Sweden has announced the acquisition of Inregia, Transek, Jet VVS Konsult, Device Design, Riskteknik Martin Uulas, HLLS Arkitekter and Hagerud Elteknik.

In the beginning of July 2008, WSP Architecture joined forces with LINK signatur and formed the new company LINK architecture. Read more.
