Kemira Kemi AB applied for and received a permit to manufacture peracetic acid in a new facility at Kemira´s site in Helsingborg. Peracetic acid is mainly used for bleaching in the paper and pulp industry and in the food industry.
The permit allows the company to produce 8 000 tonnes peracetic acid annually (calculated as 100% of the compound). The processing of the permit application took place at the Environmental Court in Växjö.
WSP Environmental assisted Kemira Kemi AB throughout the application process including preparing the EIA and the technical description. WSP Environmental partnered with Kemira Kemi AB throughout the consultative phase and submitted the EIA during the proceedings at the Environmental Court.
