Construction companies in Romania took part in a friendly football tournament organised in the benefit of Hospice Casa Speranţei on Saturday, November 13. “Bucharest Football Project, Phase III: Football and Friends for Hospice Casa Speranţei” was hosted by FC Steaua and benefited from the participation of Helmuth Duckadam, Narcis Răducan and the ex-FA referee, Vic Callow. Vic Callow was one of England’s top referees. He refereed over 600 top games in England and was chosen as one of the referees to officiate on the opening day of the Premiership. Within his career, he refereed Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, Manchester United FC and shared the pitch with players such as Eric Cantona and Alan Shearer.
The event aimed to increase the level of awareness regarding palliative care services and support Hospice Casa Speranţei in the provision of free specialised assistance to incurable patients. The funds collected on the occasion of the event will support the Hospice centres in Braşov, Bucharest and Făgăraş and help the delivery of home visits for the patients looked after by the foundation.
Hospice Casa Speranţei is a pioneer NGO in the sector of palliative services and a centre of excellence in Romania and South-Eastern Europe. The organisation was set up in 1992 and runs its activity through the centers in Bucharest, Braşov, Făgăraş and Zărneşti. Over 10,000 patients have benefited from their services to date.
Alukönigstahl, Coldwell Banker Affiliates of Romania, Corporate Office Solutions (COS), DTZ Echinox, Gardiner & Theobald (G&T), H&J Martin, Procema Engineering, Summa Europe Contracting and WSP Romania are the construction companies that took part in the event.
The competition was won by Summa Contracting Europe, followed by Coldwell Banker Affiliates of Romania and DTZ Echinox.
Bucharest Football Project is a friendly football competition that addresses the Construction and Property sectors in Romania. The event is an initiative of Gardiner & Theobald (G&T) and is currently at its third edition. Bucharest Football Project aims at become a meeting point for the Construction and Property professionals in the country and a fundraising initiative for the NGO sector.
