Design management is concerned with the delivery and management of individual design projects and design teams to achieve four principal objectives:
- Work within the parameters and guidelines of the clients scope and associated cost plans.
- Efficient design integration and safe on-site construction to meet the programme on time.
- Manage quality and consistency of design outcomes across and within different design disciplines
- Compliance with local and other relevant design codes.
To achieve these objectives, our design management philosophy includes the following:
- Managing and integrating the design process with the design programme to produce best value solutions that meet the Clients Plan and have full stakeholder buy-in.
- Design integration of procurement, construction, FM and operation requirements
- Timely development of ideas and solutions that achieve time savings and/or add value.
- Design solutions that link in with achievable logistics plans and construction constraints.
- Design phasing to meet business, sales, delivery, procurement and handover targets.
To input effectively into the Design Phase it is important to contribute to and influence the design at the earliest possible time. The available time will not permit revisiting early design decisions during production design or construction so our approach will have to be driven by our determination to add value, prevent risk, integrate design processes and transform site practices without compromising design expression.
We will work with the Client and his stakeholders to align conflicting design requirements into a clear brief for the Programme
