This is a multi-use development comprising a Four Star Business Hotel (385 keys), Serviced Apartments (250), Unfurnished Apartments (450), Commercial Offices (30,000 sq m) and Retail, Food Outlets (10,000 sq m).
The project is arranged with 5 towers up to 16 floors above a 5-level basement accommodating retail and parking for 2,000 cars and is located within Al Bustan Complex, adjacent to the Airport Road, in Abu Dhabi.
WSP are the Structural Engineer and WSP Environmental has provided support with respect to reviewing and approving the foundation and substructure design and construction. The development comprises 130m by 170m and 20m deep basement and is being formed using an anchored secant pile wall. WSP Geotechnics checked the contractor design using finite element modelling. WSP provided Resident Engineer services as the client’s representative ensuring construction of the secant wall and piling was in accordance to the technical specifications.
