Roads and bridges

By bringing together the required disciplines, WSP has become a world-leader in the roads and bridges engineering sector with international experience

Roads and bridges

Our projects include all types of highways, from local access roads to major urban and rural strategic routes. Bridge engineering plays an important part in many of our road projects, and we provide innovative and cost effective solutions in steel, concrete and timber.

WSP specialists have a thorough knowledge of advanced planning and material technology issues, and experience of building complex structures where several disciplines come into play.

Services range from conceptual planning and techno-economic feasibility studies through engineering design and assistance with "Works/Supply" contract procurement, as well as supervision of construction and technical assistance/project management support.

Consistent with the functioning and operation of a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, WSP uses state of the art computer hardware and peripherals, the latest engineering design and drafting software as well as a broad range of utility computer software packages. We have access to a variety of laboratory testing and quality control facilities as well as field survey equipment.

Understanding new technologies and applying them successfully to real world problems is a process we call "applied technology" a field in which WSP is an industry leader.

Through its network of offices throughout South Africa, WSP is able to provide the benefits of a locally based service backed by the technical expertise and resources of an international engineering consultancy.
