Corporate Responsibility for WSP means meeting the expectations of our stakeholders across our business and identifying, measuring and managing our positive and negative social, ethical and environmental impacts.
Introduction
As a global business operating in global markets, acting responsibly is important to our future success and we are committed to responding to our social, ethical and environmental responsibilities.
Last year we demonstrated this commitment by publishing a separate report that set out our approach to Corporate Responsibility and identified a number of objectives. This report provides an outline of our progress towards these objectives.
We are a knowledge-based Group operating largely in an office environment. However, with around 9500 people, we recognise there are a range of issues and potential impacts arising from our activities. The issues of business integrity, the environment, our people, health and safety and the communities in which we operate are the focus of our attention. Operating in the built and natural environment, we also have the opportunity to make a significant indirect contribution to society and the environment through the work that we undertake and the advice we provide to our clients.
Our vision and values are embedded in our business and define our culture and behaviour.
Our vision is to be the outstanding supplier of specialist and integrated services to the built and natural environment. Our core values of Trust, Sharing and Supporting, Pride and Passion, Innovation, and Sustainability support us in working towards our vision.
We have recently issued our Business Ethics Policy to staff worldwide which sets out our commitment to stakeholders and provides guidance to staff to enable them to deal with key issues that affect us. Among the issues are business integrity, equal opportunities, human rights, health and safety, the environment, and communities.
