Rebecca Bjerre is a bridge engineer based in Basingstoke. She has worked with WSP since she graduated in 2001.
What is your long term ambition?
I see myself progressing up through the company as an engineer, with increasing opportunities to run my own projects.
Do you think you have a good balance between work and your private life?
Yes - I give 100% to the company when I’m at work and I’ll gladly work long hours if a project requires it. But in my team it’s recognised that people have a life outside work and I’m glad to say we’re not expected to devote our whole lives to WSP to prove our commitment.
Do you feel you get the support you need in your career development?
Yes, WSP provides all the support and training opportunities I could possibly need – the rest is up to me. It gives me control over how my career progresses.
