Gustav Lind

Gustav Lind works in the IT department in the Stockholm office and has the opportunity to work on global as well as local IT projects.  He believes that the IT department is one of the most globalised parts of WSP as the need for a common technical platform, with cooperation across international boundaries, is vital for building a truly global business.

Gustav is well placed to work on a global basis having spent time on secondment to the London office working on a group-wide wireless network project.  He found the experience extremely beneficial and now spends time regularly commuting between Stockholm and London.  Speaking of his secondment he says ‘I now find it easy to switch between countries and feel at home in both offices’.

He has continued to build his international experience and has recently been working on IT integration projects in Poland, Germany and the USA and will soon be packing his bags again for a second secondment.  This time he’s off to Reston in Virginia, USA, for a couple of months to provide access to WSP’s technical system for a recently acquired part of the Environmental business.

Gustav thinks the opportunity to travel and build contacts has proved to be very beneficial for his career development.  Gustav found being part of the Nordic Taskforce very useful. “I’ve never heard of any other company having anything similar,” he says. “It must be unique to WSP. It’s very beneficial for staff to get to know the top managers at WSP.  It feels good to feel you really can have some influence.”
