Most WSP people work as consultants or as support staff in their particular field. Typically, a consultant or engineer will progress either along a technical path to become an expert in a specialist field of expertise, or take a more business oriented route, focusing for example on managing projects and people. Some project managers then progress to more senior positions where they will run multidisciplinary, multinational projects. Other staff progress to general management positions.
Whatever career path you choose, progression is not just a matter of time serving. Whilst WSP is committed to providing the opportunities, it’s up to the individual to take the initiative.
