A new National Leader for WSP Built Ecology

Friday, August 13, 2010

WSP Lincolne Scott has today announced David Jarratt as the new National Leader and Director of its specialist sustainability design brand, WSP Built Ecology.

A new National Leader for WSP Built Ecology

“Built Ecology is Australia’s foremost consultancy dedicated to progressive environmental design and needs a leader with not only technical and managerial expertise, but also enthusiasm and a passion for driving industry change.

“David is that person. He has done an outstanding job growing the Built Ecology brand in Melbourne, and we are absolutely confident in his ability to drive the business as well as continue pushing the green agenda,” said Andrew Mather, acting Managing Director of WSP Lincolne Scott.

David, who will be based in Melbourne and has been with the firm for eight years, takes up the role effective immediately. David has international experience and has been a key player in the development in some of the world’s most innovative sustainable projects, including Hawaii’s first LEED Platinum building NELHA Gateway, Distributed and Renewable Energy Centre and University of Melbourne’s first 5 Star Green Star Education Pilot project, The Economics’ and Commerce Faculty Building.

On his appointment, David said: “I’m excited to be taking on this challenging role, leading a young, dynamic team in the ever evolving field of sustainability. I’m also looking forward to building on the strong culture of creativity and cutting edge design, enabling Built Ecology to continually push the sustainability design boundaries.

As WSP Built Ecology’s Australian National Leader, David will join Andrew Corney from the United States and Matthew Payne from the United Kingdom on the Built Ecology Steering Committee. Responsible for global co-ordination of the Built Ecology brand and services, the Committee will replace the role of global brand leader, previously held by Matthew Jessup.

Earlier this year Built Ecology rebranded from Advanced Environmental to better reflect the brand’s core offering. The rebrand coincided with the opening of new offices in Brisbane and London. Built Ecology also has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and San Francisco.

Previous WSP Built Ecology benchmark projects include Council House 2 in Melbourne, 30 The Bond in Sydney, One Shelley in Sydney and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne.
